The Somebeachsomewhere Story
|

On May 25, 2005, a harness racing legend was born.

Somebeachsomewhere is a standardbred horse that was sired by Mach Three, out of Wheres The Beach, a Beach Towel mare. Brent MacGrath bought the colt as a yearling for Schooner Stables of Truro, Nova Scotia. Since his debut as a two year old, SBSW has become a horse racing icon.

Somebeachsomewhere earned $812,592 in his freshman year, with a perfect record of six wins in six starts. He shared the title of Canada Horse of the Year with Tell All, and was named the best pacing colt of 2007.

Somebeachsomewhere set four world records, won 20 of 21 career starts and earned more than 3.3 million over the course of his racing career. He was named Nova Scotia Newsmaker of the Year and Canadian and North American horse of the year in 2008, and is among the 2009 Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame inductees.
